I had read about Miss Herron when I read through the complete history of this school which thankfully had been preserved by my grandfather Daniel Webster Lounsbury, who   served as the school’s trustee for many years until the school was closed in the ealrly 1940s.

Miss Herron served as the teacher for six school years ( 1922 -23, 1923 -24, She did not teach for the next two years, but returned for two more school years 1926-27, 1927-28.       During those years she provided many other necessary functions, which included basic custodial needs.

I read about all the other teachers throughout the years, but Daisy Herron came “back to life” when this photo of her and her 1923 Ford Model T coupe  came to my attention via my connections in my Facebook community in mid October of 2021.    It has been a rare occasion to receive a photo of a teacher, but, one with her “hot”   little Ford coupe to boot is pretty special.
